Pre and Post Natal Pilates

As a mum myself I understand pregnancy can be a really challenging time both mentally and physically. Everyone reacts differently, each stage of pregnancy brings itself new challenges for your body and energy levels but an adapted Pilates programme is a wonderful way to help maintain a healthy, mobile and strong body during these miracle months and at the start of life as a new mummy!

Benefits of Pregnancy Pilates

  • Prepares the muscles needed for labour, making delivery easier
  • Learn how to use the breath to release stress, help in delivery and keep connected to your core and pelvic floor.
  • Eases recovery after birth, helping to regain your pre-pregnancy shape and prepare for the physical demands of motherhood.
  • Improves circulation, reducing the risk of varicose veins and reduces swelling
  • Enhances muscular balance, strengthening the core and pelvic floor
  • Can help relieve symptoms from many pregnancy related conditions such as pelvic girdle pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica or back problems.

You may not have done much fitness pre pregnancy or you may have been fitness mad! Either way now is the most important time to take the time to repair from within. After all your body has gone through the most toughest challenge it will ever go through over the last 9 months!

It takes up to two years for the postnatal body to fully recover so rebuild, realign and repair now, your body will thank you for it later!

* Babies welcome at postnatal sessions. Mummies can join after their 6 week post natal check or 12 week check for C sections.

Tiffany is an excellent Pilates teacher. She follows up each session with an email. I would thoroughly recommend her.
